Biophilic design and landscaping by Dunn + Moran
Dunn + Moran is a landscape architecture practice with a focus on distinct environments tailored for the unique Brisbane sub-tropical lifestyle. Collaborative and inquisitive, they creates spaces based on strong design principles that enhance the way people live and connect with the built form and the landscape.
“The landscape design for The Windermere embraces both its Ascot position and Brisbane’s idyllic sub-tropical climate. Extensive robust planting to the boundaries and lush hanging greenery in planters wrap the building’s exterior cascading podium bands. A curated selection of natural foliage is introduced to connect the podium levels to the ground, ‘earthing’ the building and creating a natural connection to the street. A bespoke trellis system is located on the western façade of the building to provide sun shading and dappled light, while allowing the prevailing river breezes through.”
